A security camera was placed outside a home in New Jersey that was burglarized, leaving the homeowner unable to see her intruder.
The homeowner reported that she was watching television when she was suddenly awoken by a sound in the hallway, a homeowner-security camera and a second security camera in her house, police said.
The homeowner had no way of knowing the intruder was there until it was too late.
New Jersey State Police said that the burglary was caught on a surveillance camera in the house.
The homeowner and her boyfriend went to a nearby business and saw a man with a gun, but they didn’t immediately alert the police, said State Police Capt. David Schmitt.
The man had left the home, and police are trying to identify him.
He has not yet been charged with a crime.
“It’s a little unsettling,” Schmitt said.
“He’s out there, it’s a crime scene, but he’s not here.
I know we have a lot of people out there looking for this individual.” “
If there’s a reward offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of this individual, that would be great.
I know we have a lot of people out there looking for this individual.”
Schmitt said police will release more information as they investigate.
